Exercise Specialists are responsible for planning and implementing group fitness programs, perform personal training sessions and be involved in the planning and delivery of educational programs on health and wellness topics.
Instructs a variety of group and individual fitness programs for all levels of care.
Ability to approach older adults with frailties and chronic diseases with confidence.
Personal trainer to older adults of all levels of care and special populations.
Creates ongoing publicity for health promotion and upcoming wellness events.
Encourages social interaction, promotes mental stimulation, and supports self-esteem all leading toward self-efficacy and full engagement in life.
Ability to implement pre and post functional assessments on a regular basis and develop an approach that encourages the integration of fitness results into resident’s everyday lifestyle. .
Your background includes:
Minimum of a BS in Exercise Science or Degree in related field combined with relevant continuing education and professional experience.
Certification with ACSM, NSCA, ACE, or AFAA, is helpful.
Previous experience as a personal trainer, instructor and/or assistant to a fitness or wellness director in settings such as athletic club, hospital cardiac rehab or worksite wellness center.
Previous experience working with older adults.
