Job Summary

The Director of Athletic Ticketing Sales and Operations manages sales, staff and box office operations and reconciliation for the Athletic Department, as well as supervises game day ticket sales and operations for FGCU Eagles’ ticketed sports. Ensures all ticketed events are executed at a high level and in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. The Director reports to the Associate Director of Sales and Marketing, and manages a team of professional and support staff. Collaborates with coaches, marketing, and advancement to create, and implement initiatives to increase ticket sales and other revenue streams.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

Oversees day to day operations of the assigned functional area.

Develops operating budgets and forecast revenues and expenditures. Researches purchase options, prepares requisitions, and monitors revenue and expenses.

Recruits, hires, and trains a staff of OPS, support and professional employees that assist in carrying out the goals and objectives of the functional area.

Ensures all regulations, policies, procedures, and safety practices are followed.

Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures to ensure effective operations.

Develops and implements new initiatives to improve operations.

Serves as a liaison with the university community, vendors, and the general public.

Athletics representative and community liaison for SWFL community outreach initiatives

Works closely with Coaches to coordinate ticket pass lists and event sales.

Supplemental Responsibilities:

Create ticket events and seasons within Paciolan or similar ticket software, as well as provide training to staff on duties, systems, forms procedures and customer service and sales skills.

Create tickets sales ticket strategies and support documentation.

Update ticketing website.

Provide patron assistance with seating or ticketing issues.

Support facilities in event management.

Provide weekly sales and budget updates with written narrative and updated support data.

Develop and maintain donor relationships.

Work with business office on periodic audits; comply with all University, ASUN Conference and NCAA regulations.

Others Duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.

Five years of full-time professional experience in a higher education athletics department related to the position.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications will be considered.

Proficient with a personal computer, hand held mobile phone and proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

Five years of full-time ticket sales professional experience in a higher education athletics department.

Two years of full-time ticket sales professional experience

Experience working with ticketing, donor and guest management software.

Experience with Paciolan Ticketing System Software

Works closely with Coaches to coordinate ticket pass lists and event sales.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM and Paciolan or similar Ticketing software.

Knowledge of policies, procedures, and guidelines established by professional organizations and/or governing agencies.

Knowledge of applicable safety requirements.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.

Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing information, guidance and motivation.

Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes equity and inclusion.

Ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgement in the establishment, interpretation, application, and enforcement of all rules, regulations, and policies.
