Provides admissions counseling and guidance to students during the Readmissions process, determines eligibility of applicants for readmission to the University by interpreting application materials in compliance with established admission policies. Assists with University student recruitment initiatives, and serves as a resource for readmit students who need additional support and/or guidance.
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
Inputs and processes readmit student applications and supporting documents into the Student Information System and reviews for accuracy.
Determines eligibility of applicants for readmission to the University by interpreting application materials in compliance with established admission policies.
Ensures prompt processing of readmission application into Banner. Periodically completes audits to identify and correct data entry errors.
Provides outstanding customer service for all inquiries by email, telephone, or in-person regarding required documents and readmission status.
Provides returning students information on the academic appeals process, due to prior academic dismissal.
Participates in appeals committee meetings to present student records and communicate appeals decisions to candidates for readmission.
Resolves internal requests for adjustments on applications.
Conducts all admissions activities with the highest integrity and business ethics while adhering to state, federal, and FGCU policies and regulations.
Maintains a secure and confidential environment for student records and other data.
Organizes workload to ensure deadlines are met and schedules work assignments in priority or date received order.
Assists in the management, administration, and implementation of the university procedures and programs for student recruitment initiatives.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Public Administration, Business, or other related field.
Two years of experience in higher education records, , admissions, or related field
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and or certification may be considered.
Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and Outlook).
Valid driver’s license.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
Experience in higher education, public relations, communication, or public speaking.
Experience working with Student Information Systems
