  • Essential Job Accountabilities:

    • Job Summary:
      • The Interventional Radiology Coordinator position provides a vital link in the chain of Quality of Care and communication. Daily duties include but not limited to: ordering supplies, entering charges, and maintain an adequate supply of all materials used by the Interventional Labs, to include collaboration with vendors during new product trials. Maintains computer system on updated CPT-4 codes, new procedures builds and bill onlys.

    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
        • Responsible to create and maintain procedures and bills onlys in RIS and IR systems.
        • Review charges daily for appropriateness.
        • Maintains IR inventory and report system.
        • Performs periodic inventory and monthly expired product review.
        • Develops and adjusts PAR levels based on usage.
        • Maintain adequate supply of materials used by IR to include collaboration with vendors on new products trails and consignment stock.
        • Utilizes the HIS, RIS, PACS and communication systems. Monitors unreconciled lists, incomplete exam lists, unread study list. Verifies exams are properly ordered and available for interpretation.
        • Facilitates and coordinates physician orders, prior exams and report, and efficient system for scheduling future patients.
        • Maintains patient record by entering data according to the Healthcare System’s policy and procedures, preserving confidentiality, checking for deficiencies, and providing forms as necessary. Asses all forms making sure all signed and complete.
        • Provides daily support to Radiologists; answers phones, monitor faxes, retrieves off-line studies, troubleshoot PACS errors and hardware issues.
        • Accurately reviews/post daily charges and statistical information into computer system. Coordinates with charge nurse and lead tech regarding add-ons, stroke patients needing interventions, and other emergencies.
        • Demonstrate polite and courteous phone etiquette with ability to clearly communicate with other.
        • Assist with delivering hands-on training for new employees.
        • Maintains/restocks supplies, prepares reports and maintains unit records under the direction of the Manager/Unit Director.

    • Education, Experience, Qualifications:
        • Minimum of Associates Degree with 5 years’ experience in medical setting ordering supplies OR High School/GED with 8 years’ experience in medical setting ordering supplies required; Experience in acute care setting preferred.
        • Electronic Health Record experience preferred.
        • Demonstrates effective organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask.
        • Strong customer service, oral and written communication skills.
        • Interventional coding knowledge preferred.
